Barrie Llewellyn reaches John O'Groats

After 12 months of training and 912 miles, Barrie Llewellyn completed his Lands End to John O'Groats charity cycle ride in just 9 days. He has raised over £1000 for the Usk House Day Hospice, Brecon. He cycled approximately 100 miles per day through both glorious sunshine and torrential rain and then camped at night.

"It was hard going and at one point I thought I would struggle to make it" said the 63 year old retired Army Captain,

"But the promise I made to Usk House and the generous support from Wells Rec and the other sponsors kept me going. It's another big tick on the list of things I wanted to achieve and I've helped others at the same time."

Would he do it again?

"Ask me in a few weeks! At the moment I'd be happy never to see a bike again!"

If you would like to offer your support to Usk House and to honour Barrie's achievement, please send a cheque to Usk House Day Hospice, Bridge Street, Brecon, Powys, LD3 8AH.
