Reclaimed timber flooring has become synonomous with architectural salvage yards. A principle building material recognised as recycleable in the early days of reclamation.
Wells Reclamation always carries large stocks of oak flooring, elm flooring and pine floor boards. Over the years it has become increasingly difficult to source genuine reclaimed oak flooring with elm also becoming scarce. It has therefore become necessary to stock 'new' timber selected from sustainable forests from around the world.
Oak flooring has always been very popular due to its hardwearing properties and its ability to improve with age. A recent innovation growing in popularity is 'engineered' oak flooring. This has a 6mm layer of solid oak glued to a quality plywood base. Can be more stable in underfloor heating situations, bathrooms and kitchens. Reclaimed elm flooring has such a beautiful grain that it often used in 'our favourite rooms' to give that 'wow' factor. Reclaimed pine floor boards offer a very mellow period feel to a room and tend to be cheaper than the hardwoods and so are also quite popular.
