Pier Caps

In practical terms pier caps are used for capping gate posts and walls. In architectural terms they are indicative of the property owners' interests and style and can give different messages. For example, a traditional 'pineapple' pier cap means 'Welcome'. A house with a pair of sitting dogs either side of the gate could indicate dog lovers.
